Let’s face it. Even though responsibilities sometimes feel like a killjoy or even a burden they are needed for giving us purpose, instilling character, and developing an attitude of perseverance.
Once we learn this it is so easy to retreat well within the range of our boundaries that we refuse to allow ourselves to enjoy all the freedom living life in the boundaries offers.
To pattern our life after Jesus is to be a servant. Not just seeing past our own needs, but even denying them for the needs of others. This is admirable and it is consistent with our calling as followers of Jesus. However, to model ourselves after servant Jesus, we must do so completely.
