Tom Frye: Vocals, Guitars, Harmonicas, Keys, Mandolin
Father and front-man for the band, Tom enjoys gardening, the out-doors and spending time with his wife and children. Tom also has an appreciation for a warm cup of dark coffee and reading, some of his favorite authors are Brennan Manning, Glenn Beck and Donald Miller. He also has a particular interest in history, especially biographies about Native Americans. As you might imagine Tom enjoys a wide range of musicians, from Christian artists including Rich Mullins, Mitch McVicker, and Andrew Peterson, to songwriters such as John Prine, John Mellencamp, Paul Simon, Five for Fighting and Jason Mraz. And anyone who knows Tom would attest to the fact that the list would incomplete without the mention of classic-rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd. Tom is a graduate of Ball State University, which is also where he met Lisa and learned to play guitar. He is also the contemporary worship pastor at Westchester United Methodist Church in Portland, Indiana.
Kaylyn Frye: Vocals, Upright Bass, Bass Guitar, Rhythm Guitar
Oldest daughter, Kaylyn is currently a college senior at Trevecca Nazarene University in Nasvhille, Tennessee where she is studying music business. In addition to music, she enjoys theater and sports. Kaylyn has been involved many productions in both civic and professional theater, including roles as Sally Brown in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown and Alice in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers. Kaylyn has also appeared in The Sound of Music, Suessical the Musical, Mame, Beach Blanket Bearcreek, Oklahoma, My Fair Lady, and many others. Kaylyn also enjoys playing on her church softball team, spending time with family and friends, watching movies, playing games (her favorites are Dutch Blitz and Phase 10), campfires, reading biographies, baby-sitting and has a contagious giggle.
Maggie Frye: Vocals, Keys, Recorder, Ukelele, Hammer & Lap Dulcimer
After spending 2015 studying worship music and songwriting at Hillsong College in Sydney, Australia, Maggie is now enrolled at Taylor University where she is studying professional writing. When not playing music Maggie enjoys theater and dance (she has often been known to break out in dance, through the living room or down the grocery store isles). She also has appeared in many theatrical productions in both civic and professional theater, including roles as Lucy in You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown and Martha in Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, and as everyone’s favorite orphan Annie, in the musical of the same name. Additionally Maggie has appeared in South Pacific, The Sound of Music, Suessical the Musical, Mame, Beach Blanket Bearcreek, Oklahoma, My Fair Lady, and many others. Though she is not a sports fan, Maggie is quite willing to keep the score-book for the church softball team, she also enjoys reading just about anything and has (maybe a little too much) fun making up little songs about her brother. Maggie is a girl with many nick-names, the most common of which is “Smiley.”
Vocals, Bass Guitar, Rhythm & Lead Guitar, Keys, Ukulele, Recorder, Drums, Percussion, Tech
Jonathon, the youngest of the Frye siblings, is a 2016 high school graduate, and is currently enrolled in community college. His two favorite activities are playing music and anything to do with football. Like his sisters, Jonathon has also performed in several theatrical productions including lead roles as Jojo in Suessical the Musical, the young Patrick Dennis in Mame and most recently as Fyedka in Fiddler on the Roof. He enjoys playing softball on his church’s team, board games (especially when he can talk his sisters into playing Clue), working outside with his dad; gardening, cutting wood and even changing the oil in the family van. Jonathon also loves watching movies and making people laugh.
Lisa Frye: Auxiliary Percussion, Inspiration
After spending seventeen years as a stay-at-home/homeschool mom, wife and mother, Lisa now works as a Social Service Director. When traveling with the Family, you will usually find Lisa at the merch table, though she does occasionally speak as part of the Family to Family Events, and (with much coaxing) will join the family to play percussion on a song or two. She also has been involved in a few stage productions (Secret Garden, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, & I’ll Be Home for Christmas) though she is much more comfortable behind the scenes. Besides spending time with her husband and children, she also enjoys gardening, ballroom dancing, backyard bonfires, and sports, including church softball, volleyball and jogging. Lisa is a graduate of Ball State University with a degree in social work.
Eric Reynolds: Drums, Percussion
The only non-family member, Eric joined the Frye Family Band in the fall of 2014 helping to round out the foursome as Kaylyn left for college. He continued to be regular throughout the 2015 touring season in Maggie’s absence. And was just too much fun to not make an official part of the band. In addition to playing with the Fryes, Eric drums with his church’s worship team, and has drummed professionally in several bands, including the Lennon Brothers.
Eric is the proud father of two children. His daughter Ericka is in her Junior year at Indiana University, and his son Ean is a high school Senior.
